At the end of Fellini’s “La Strada”, Anthony Quinn’s brutish Zampanò wanders the beach drunk and alone having rejected the Fool and the Clown. He looks up to the heavens and breaks down in tears realizing he squandered his chance for love and friendship.
Life is full of choices. An old friend told me his story of a love he lost, due to his inability to make a necessary bold move. Poof. The road not taken.
